Matt Benson

Matt Benson has been a town planner since 1995, after completing his Bachelor or Urban and Regional Planning (Hons) from the University of New England.

He has worked in various NSW Councils, including former Maclean, former South Sydney, former Auburn and Willoughby.

In 2008 he commenced in the private sector, initially for a building regulations consultancy focussing on complying development certification. In 2010 he started his own company and is now re-starting after a break.

He has worked on the full range of projects - apartment developments, mixed use, seniors' living, boarding houses, townhouses, dual occupancies, rural projects, office buildings, retail, pubs, entertainment, public infrastructure and industrial buildings and uses. Projects have been mostly in Sydney but have included the Hunter, Wollongong and regional NSW.
